Quilt-ionary
Quilters use lots of strange terms that sometimes seem strange to the outside world, I will try and explain any terms I use on this site here ...
Jelly Roll = A set of pre-cut fabric strips that usually measure 2 1/2" by 42", usually in a variety of co-ordinated colours
Charm Pack = A set of pre-cut fabric 5" squares, usually in a variety of of co-ordinated colours
Sampler Quilts = Quilts created by sewing together a number of individual patterns or "samples"
Stack and Whack = A technique used to create differing wheels of pattern using the same fabric in 8 layers
Mitred Corners = Where two sides meet at the corner on a 45 degree angle
Bargello = A technique used to create a wave effect on your design which can be done with different or the same size columns
Quilt As You Go = A technique used to quilt smaller sections of your quilt as you create them rather than quilting the whole piece before the binding is added
Binding = Fabric used to edge a quilt
Wadding = Material used between the top layer of the quilt and the backing fabric
