Quilters use lots of strange terms that sometimes seem strange to the outside world, I will try and explain any terms I use on this site here ...

Jelly Roll = A set of pre-cut fabric strips that usually measure 2 1/2" by 42", usually in a variety of co-ordinated colours

Charm Pack = A set of pre-cut fabric 5" squares, usually in a variety of of co-ordinated colours

Sampler Quilts = Quilts created by sewing together a number of individual patterns or "samples"

Stack and Whack = A technique used to create differing wheels of pattern using the same fabric in 8 layers

Mitred Corners = Where two sides meet at the corner on a 45 degree angle

Bargello = A technique used to create a wave effect on your design which can be done with different or the same size columns

Quilt As You Go = A technique used to quilt smaller sections of your quilt as you create them rather than quilting the whole piece before the binding is added

Binding = Fabric used to edge a quilt

Wadding = Material used between the top layer of the quilt and the backing fabric
