Scrap Patch

Confessions of a fabricologist

Following online instructions

I made this bag in late 2014, using leftover "scraps" from other projects rather than a charm pack as the instructions suggested. I think this made for a more eclectic design ...

This was my first attempt at sewn in handles and I will be honest and say it was third time lucky to get them sitting in the right place and being accessible when the bag was the right way out! I particularly like how comfy the handles are to use, as they are tacked together in the middle to help with handling and they are very strong thanks to the repeated line quilting down the length of them.

The lining of the bag was made with some unused backing material that I had and rather than quilting the outside layer onto muslin I used wadding to make a sturdier bag. Though this made sewing through all the layers around the top more difficult but not impossible!
